The famous seaside resort of Antalya is home to many beautiful hotels – so any new building has an obligation to stand out. When Turkish architects of Eren Talu were assigned to plan a design hotel, they went for more than beautiful - they went for spectacular. On its opening day, the Adam & Eve Hotel not only featured the world’s largest lobby and the longest bar, which measures 96 meters, it also boasted a façade that combines an orthogonal shape with vibrantly colored windows – a genuine highlight on Mediterranean nights. No wonder the building was crowned the “World’s Leading Design Hotel” at the 14th World Travel Awards in 2008.

This stunning exterior was constructed using AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Outdoor as a water-managed façade directly applied to a metal framework. AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Technology from Knauf was also used inside the building. Here, AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor was installed as a tile backer for decorative mirrors, ceilings in the Turkish bath and sauna, and for partitions in pool areas. In the interior as well as on the exterior, the inorganic property of the boards was a major asset. Since it is 100% resistant to water and humidity, AQUAPANEL® Cement Board literally is ideal for wet rooms and coastal climates.
