WHERE TRADITIONAL DESIGN MEETS MODERN TECHNOLOGY
Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono, Hokkaido, Japan
A spectacular natural landscape, a breathtaking ski resort and a luxury hotel that perfectly complements these surroundings with its traditional design - all these aspects come together in the Park Hyaat Niseko Hanazono Hotel on the northern side of the Niseko Annupuri Mountain in Japan.
The eight-floor high hotel, designed by Nikken Sekkei architectural firm, is a perfect complement to its environment. The design of the four separate buildings with a total of 100 guest rooms and 113 luxurious residences is inspired by traditional Japanese crafts with the use of natural materials.
To make guests feel completely comfortable, the hotel is equipped with a spacious spa and wellness facility, as well as a 25-meter pool. In order to reflect the atmosphere of the entire hotel in these wet areas, the right material for the substructure had to be found. The challenge was to find a material that could handle the moisture and humidity of the wet areas, while giving the architects full freedom in terms of their design – finally the solution was found with AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor.
Due to its strength and robustness, as well as its mould, mildew and water resistance the AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor is the perfect board for wet and humid areas. Even very high moisture, direct exposure to water and chlorine loads do not have any impact on the performance of the board. The cement board is capable of supporting tiles up to 50 kg per square meter, which means that the large tiles in the spa and pool area, as well as bathrooms no longer were a problem.
Thanks to the exceptionally performance of the AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Technology, the atmosphere of the Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono Hotel has been maintained also in its wet areas, making the stay there a very special experience for their guests.
